On Friday January 7, FLATFILEgalleries will open its first show of 2005, FAME. The exhibition will feature work by world famous photographers including Lucien Clergue (France), Gered Mankowitz, Ian McMillan, Terry O’Neill, Michael Joseph, Robert Freeman (UK), Jerry Schatzberg (NY), Jeff Dunas (LA), and Eleftheria Lialios (Chicago) who have had the good fortune to create photographic portraits of celebrities; The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Picasso, (from Lucien Clergue's book, Picasso Mon Ami) Robert Mapplethorpe, Marianne Faithful, Blues Legends (from Jeff Dunas’ book, State of the Blues) - the list goes on and on, including any movie star you can imagine, by Brit Terry O”Neill,(a celebrity himself) from his book Celebrity, and American Jeff Dunas, from his book Up Close and Personal. Longtime Joffrey Ballet Photographer/Art Director Herbert Migdoll will fill the gallery’s large project room with performance and backstage images, as well as portraits from his many years with the company, including shots taken during the filming of Robert Altman’s The Company. |
