The photography space will feature HERBERT MIGDOLL/NEW WORK. Migdoll, who is the photographer and Graphic Design Director for the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, also creates fascinating personal work, often on his travels with the Joffrey, whom he has photographed for many years. Migdoll has received many awards including a Fulbright, and has had images on the covers of Time, Life, Horizon, Dance Magazine, and the New York Times Magazine. His work has been shown in the Venice Biennale, MOMA New York, Japan and New York, various exhibits throughout the US, and, most recently in The Chicago Cultural Center and along the north bank of the Chicago River at Michigan Avenue, where his photo-based painting SWIMMERS spanned 275 feet. The four panels, each 55 to 65 feet long and 8 feet high, depict Joffrey dancers, Maia Wilkins, Pierre Lockett, Sam Franke and Guoping Wang swimming |
