In the contemporary space, FRAGILITY INSTALLED will feature mixed media installation pieces by Montreal artist Claire Beaulieu. Beaulieu uses cast glass, cast bronze, fiber, painting, and countless other processes to create beautiful individual objects which she then combines in juxtapositions of hard and soft, dark and light, heavy and seemingly weightless, all rendered in exquisite colors of sea and sky, forest and desert, fire and earth. Beaulieu achieves, through her collections of objects and textures, the unachievable goal of perfect balance and composition. She has exhibited in galleries and Museums throughout Canada, Mexico, France, Switzerland, and across the United States. Beaulieu's work is contained in the collections of Fondation Christoph Merian, Basel, The Bibliotheque Nationnale du Quebec, the Bibliotheque Nationnale du Canada, and the Anderson Museum, Roswell, NM, USA, among others.
